DOJ reaches settlement in servicemember reemployment rights dispute at KCKCC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Justice Department reached a settlement with Kansas City, Kansas Community College (KCKCC) to enforce the reemployment rights of servicemembers.

The settlement comes after Kansas Army National Guard Major Stephen W. Terry claimed that KCKCC violated the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA).

USERRA protects servicemembers from employment discrimination and ensures job security, as well as the restoration of their benefits when returning to their jobs…
