SANTA FE, N.M. — The New Mexico Department of Transportation received a national award for preserving an original stretch of U.S. Route 66.
The Asphalt Pavement Alliance presented the 2025 Perpetual Pavement Award to NMDOT on Thursday, recognizing the “exceptional long-term performance and preservation” of a nine-mile stretch of New Mexico Route 6 west of Los Lunas.
