Trial set for suspect accused of decapitating man, burning body

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Youit Jones, 38, could stand trial for capital murder-kidnapping, second-degree arson and abusing a corpse in early 2026.

Court records allege Jones decapitated Nathan Gemeinhart, a father of four, and left his body in a burning house in August 2022. The state is seeking the death penalty.

Around a dozen of Gemeinhart’s family and friends attended a status hearing for the case on Monday, Sept. 22 where Judge Alaric May took up multiple pretrial motions and reset the trial for March 2026…
