THE TROPICS: 2 tropical waves hold potential for development off southeast coast

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The National Hurricane Center monitoring potential for tropical depressions in two areas, one of which has a high chance of development into at least a tropical depression this week.

Forecasters are watching shower and thunderstorm activity associated with a tropical wave, Invest 93, located about 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Storms continue to increase in volume and organization. The environment is expected to allow for more development over the next few days.
