LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – In collaboration with the State of Michigan, the Lansing Fire Department is now offering a program to install smoke detectors in your home at no cost.
According to the Michigan Fire Inspectors Society, in 2024, 96 people died in 92 home fires, and of those deaths, only 19% of homes were reported to have working smoke alarms.
