Norwalk City Council Approves Bid on 50th Avenue Maintenance

The Norwalk City Council approved a bid for the 50th Avenue Rehabilitation Project at their meeting Thursday for $870,458.85.

The 50th Avenue Rehabilitation Project is set to address the pavement on 50th Avenue to make it smoother for drivers. Norwalk City Manager Luke Nelson tells KNIA News 50th Avenue is not a road that is at the end of its life, but the maintenance will certainly extend the life of the pavement.

So, when you drive down the road and you hear that noise, this is set to address that. They go through and they retie together the panels and essentially make that a smoother drive, do a little bit of grinding. It’s just kind of a basic maintenance, although drivers on 50th, which that’s a pretty busy road, will see some headaches as they’re commuting back and forth to work.”…
