NEW IBERIA, La. (NEWS 15) — A special celebration was held in New Iberia as the community gathered to make a young boy’s birthday one to remember.
Fisher Whitaker, 9, of New Iberia, is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia. Neighbors and friends organized a big birthday parade and celebration in front of his home.
“We’re having a big birthday party! We have a lot of Hellcat scat packs, everything,” Fisher said. “What’s going on over there? I dunno! But it’s funny! I feel, what’s the word? Grateful.”…
