Woman loses both arms, legs after being attacked by two pit bulls

OKMULGEE, Okla. — A woman is recovering after being attacked by two pit bulls that has led to both her arms and legs being amputated.

According to the Okmulgee Police Department, police responded to the area of 1017 East 12th in Okmulgee to a person being bit by a dog. Once on scene, they could hear a woman, later identified as Janelle Scott, yelling from a wooded area nearby. Scott was found with severe injuries to her and was transported to Tulsa St. Francis by medical helicopter.

Officers later spoke to the boyfriend of Scott who arrived at the scene moments after the attack to try and help Scott. Police say the boyfriend told them he was also charged by the dog and attacked.
