Mid 90s for Wednesday but a cold front is on the way

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) —Another beautiful day with sunshine to start and then a mix of sun and clouds for the second half of Tuesday, high temperatures today reached the upper 80s/low 90s.

One more day of the 90s for Wednesday, in fact it will be the hottest day of the week as high temperatures soar into the middle 90s. We’ll start off with sunshine and then increasing clouds for the afternoon and evening as the dominate high pressure begins to break down as a cold front slides east, a few showers and storms will be possible across western Alabama but these should remain well west of us during the late afternoon.

Our best chance for much needed rainfall will arrive Thursday thanks to a cold front, best time to see showers/storms will be Thursday afternoon and evening. A few storms may become strong or severe with damaging winds the primary threat, a marginal risk or level 1 out of 5 for the entire area. Scattered showers and storms will likely continue on Friday as well but severe storms are not expected…
