DETROIT – This is nearly a half decade in the making. We are getting our first look at what the Gordie Howe International Bridge looks like illuminated at night.
Construction crews lit up the country’s longest cable-stayed bridge for the first time on Thursday, September 18 and are sharing photos and videos from that evening.
“Did you notice the Gordie Howe International Bridge was brighter last night,” a statement read on Facebook. “That’s because the project team has started testing the bulbs that highlight the stay cables and bridge deck as part of aesthetic lighting.”
