‘Seemed Impossible:’ Citilink presents balanced budget, $2.5 mil short in 2024

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Citilink had $2.5 million worth of bad news in 2024 when they came to Fort Wayne City Council asking for help.

At the time, the public transportation agency’s CEO, John Metzinger, called the issue a “fiscal cliff.” Now he’s singing a different tune.

“It seemed impossible,” Metzinger said. “It’s been stressful to do that, but we’ve had great cooperation from our employees and from the community. Have found some new sources of funding that are short-term funding sources to sustain us for a couple of years.”…
