In an effort to curb the tragic trend of traffic fatalities in Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has amped up its educational social media presence with the latest episode of “Bad Traffic”. Featuring Officer Scott Tucker, commonly known as “Traffic Tucker”, he offers a glimpse into an average day on duty for a member of the JSO Traffic Enforcement Unit. The officer is displayed leveraging his role to encourage better driving habits among motorists.

On a mission to reduce accidents and save lives, Officer Tucker is quite literally being the change, from executing traffic stops to orchestrating the flow of vehicles during densely packed special events. According to a social media post by the JSO, there’s already a heavy toll of over “100 lives on our roadways this year in traffic crashes.” With heartfelt plea, the post emphasized the high cost of reckless driving: “We don’t want to see any more families suffer this unimaginable loss. Please slow down, wear your seatbelt, and obey all traffic laws.”
