UPS worker in Richmond dies after ‘several packages’ tumble down

A package delivery employee died Sunday after “several packages” tumbled onto the worker, who was loading a cargo trailer in Richmond, police said.

Richmond police are calling the incident an industrial accident, which happened around 4:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of Atlas Road, where UPS North Bay warehouse 9489 is located. Police did not provide a name for the victim.

Police said a co-worker found the injured employee, who was working alone in the trailer, and called first responders. The employee died at the scene…
