Trader Joe’s expands on Staten Island with new 12,000 square foot location opening this week

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Trader Joe’s, the quirky grocery chain with a cult following, is doubling down on Staten Island. On Wednesday, Sept. 24, the company will open its second borough location, this time in Pleasant Plains, bringing its specially curated grocery selection to the South Shore.

Located at 6400 Amboy Road, directly across from the Pleasant Plains Train Station, the new 12,000-square-foot store will open at 8 a.m., following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:55 a.m.. Store Captain Joe Gagliardi will lead the crew, which includes more than 70 newly…..
