LUBBOCK, Texas — Evan Aragon, 19, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, theft of a firearm, unlawfully carrying a weapon and evading arrest, both in a vehicle and on foot, following an incident on Sunday.
According to court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, Lubbock Police Department officers responded to a civil disturbance call at the 2500 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive. Once they arrived, they found Aragon inside of his vehicle. When officers asked him to step out for questioning, he instead turned the vehicle on and shifted it into drive. An officer then attempted to remove Aragon before he could flee, resulting in him falling halfway out of the vehicle while it was in motion. He would later crash into a truck and attempt to flee on foot before being tased and detained by LPD officers.

Once Aragon was apprehended, officers searched his vehicle and found two firearms, including a handgun with an extended magazine and a rifle. Both of these firearms would later come back as stolen. Officers would then talk to victims on scene, who told them that Aragon had pointed the handgun in their direction, leading to the initial call.
Aragon was booked into Lubbock County Detention Center on Monday, with bonds totaling over $53,000. As of writing, he is still being held at LCDC…
