Tenants of Mid-City property say city dragging feet on ending sewage backups from open pipe

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Tenants of a Mid-City property say raw sewage is flowing onto their front yard, and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans is dragging its feet in doing something about it.

They claim the stinky situation has been going on for months. Tenant Eve Hill said she hesitates to invite friends over because of the sickening stench of sewage that she says often bubbles up in her front yard.

“It’s just embarrassing to have friends come over, and there’s tons of flies, and it smells bad. There’s toilet paper in the yard,” Hill said…
