You voted: Readers pick a nickname for S.A.’s new mega-interchange

San Antonio drivers, allow me to introduce you to the Fiesta Stack.

Until now, the new interchange which the Texas Department of Transportation is building between Loop 1604 and Interstate 10 on the Northwest Side did not have a nickname — despite standing out in many other ways. With a $463 million price tag, it is one of the largest highway projects ever undertaken in San Antonio. One of its flyover ramps, which opened last month, linking the westbound Loop 1604 with the eastbound I-10, appears to be the tallest in the Lone Star State, soaring 128 feet off the ground.
