COLORADO (KXRM) — The victim in a Texas cold case was recently identified after more than 40 years, and law enforcement is looking to speak with anyone in Colorado who may have known her.
According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, skeletal remains were discovered in a remote area in Jack County, Texas, in 1984, and the victim remained unidentified until 2024. Roberta “Berta” Mumma was identified using advanced forensic techniques and DNA analysis.
Mumma was just 25 years old at the time of her death. The CBI said the Jack County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers are actively investigating this cold case and seeking justice for Mumma.
The CBI said Mumma may have spent time in Colorado, specifically Denver and Boulder. Authorities urge anyone with information about Mumma or the circumstances surrounding her death to come forward…
