- Sean Combs launched a jailhouse ‘Free Game with Diddy’ course to teach fellow inmates business skills: lawyers (businessinsider.com)
Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, currently incarcerated at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), has been sharing his business acumen with fellow inmates. Combs developed and taught a six-week course titled “Free Game with Diddy,” offering instruction in business management, entrepreneurship, and personal development.
According to Combs’ attorneys, who detailed the program in a presentencing submission, the 15-page curriculum was designed to provide essential business skills. The course was open to all inmates in Combs’ dorm, with a Spanish interpreter ensuring accessibility. His lawyers emphasized the program’s impact, noting the lack of other educational opportunities at MDC.
Combs’ legal team portrayed the course as one of his most significant endeavors, highlighting his intention to expand and improve the curriculum upon his release. They envision extending the program to youth in the community and other correctional facilities.
The filing is part of a broader argument for leniency in Combs’ sentencing, scheduled for October 3rd. His attorneys are advocating for time served, citing the year he’s already spent at MDC.
Prosecutors, however, have previously recommended a minimum four-year sentence. Combs was recently acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges, which carried a potential life sentence.
