(WYTV) – We recently mentioned on Daybreak that Ohio is getting a Buc-ee’s, opening in the Dayton area in April, the first in Ohio.
Buc-ee’s is a huge place to stop for gas, sometimes called the Disney World of gas stations.
It’s almost a destination rather than just a quick stop. There are 54 around the country, many in Texas and the South. They all have between 80 and 120 gas pumps, but no room for 18-wheelers, no large trucks, ever — just families on vacation.The first opened in Texas in 1982, offering not only gas pumps but also a huge building in which to shop, and later a place to charge your electric car, take your dog for a walk, grab plenty to eat, including fresh barbecue, plus souvenirs and clothing, kitchen goods, hunting gear, and 24 hours a day.It is the world’s largest convenience store. Its biggest is in Luling, Texas, south of Austin along Interstate 10: 75,000 square feet.And if that’s not enough, Buc-ees has its loyal fans across the country, and it’s known for its super clean restrooms. It wins awards for them.So if you find yourself in the Dayton area next April, a place called Huber Heights along Interstate 70, look for the Buc-ees, stop and send a picture to Daybreak.
