98 people displaced by Miami Beach hostel fire. Red Cross steps in to help

Nearly 100 people were displaced after a blaze swept through a Miami Beach hostel on Monday evening, with the Red Cross stepping in to help.

The fire happened around 5:15 p.m. at South Beach Rooms and Hostel, 236 Ninth St., according to Lissi Hernandez, a spokesperson for Miami Beach Fire Rescue. Firefighters put out the fire that was contained to the second floor.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation…
