Police: Man charged after shooting 2 dogs

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake Police have charged a man with two counts of animal cruelty in connection to a Sept. 8 incident in which they say he shot two of his dogs after they were allegedly fighting and his wife was bitten when she tried to break them apart.

Shane Fuson has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty from Animal Control, while police issued a charge for the reckless handling of a firearm, and discharging a firearm.

Police were called to a home in the 800 block of Jo Anne Circle around 4:50 p.m. Sept. 8 for a report of gunshots heard in the area. When officers arrived, they learned the homeowner had shot two of his dogs after they fought one another and his wife was bitten when trying to break it up…
