Street closures, parking changes, and bus detours for UI Homecoming Parade

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Downtown Iowa City will be full of black and gold this Friday for the University of Iowa Homecoming Parade, which begins at 5:45 p.m. on Sept. 26.

With thousands expected downtown, city officials are reminding drivers, bus riders, and parade-goers to plan ahead for street closures, parking restrictions, and transit changes throughout the day.

Parade Route:

The parade starts at Washington and Gilbert streets, heads west on Washington, north on Clinton, east on Jefferson, south on Dubuque, then east on Iowa Avenue, ending back at Gilbert Street…
