ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington police have arrested a suspect and charged him with the fatal stabbing of a 55-year-old woman.
The suspect, 55-year-old Frederick Spears, has been charged with murder in the stabbing of 53-year-old Mary Spears on Monday at her home in the 1000 block of Shortleaf Pine Drive.
As officers approached Spears to arrest him, he reportedly grabbed a knife and began stabbing himself. After Spears reportedly wouldn’t comply with commands to drop the knife, police say the officers deployed tasers, less lethal rounds and a K9 before Spears finally dropped the knife. He was arrested and taken to a local hospital, where he still is recovering from his injuries…
