Driver dies after crashes on I-395 in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — Police said that one person died after a crash over the weekend on Interstate 395 in Alexandria.

Virginia State Police (VSP) stated in a news release that around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, a Toyota Corolla had become disabled in the southbound lanes near the three-mile marker after a crash. Drivers did not report this first crash to police.

As the Corolla was stopped in the lanes, another car that was driving “at a high rate of speed” hit it.

Police said that the driver of the Corolla, 45-year-old Hennry O. Ortuno Flores of Springfield, Va., was not wearing a seatbelt when that second crash took place and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died…
