CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Multiple Charleston County law enforcement agencies and organizations will be handing out free overdose prevention kits across the county Thursday.
Law enforcement agencies like the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Charleston Police Department, and North Charleston Police Department and organizations like WakeUp Carolina, Charleston Center, and Favor Lowcountry will be providing free naloxone and overdose prevention tips at several locations across the Lowcountry.
Naloxone, commonly known by the brand name Narcan, is a life-saving medication that can help to reverse opioid overdoses.
