Lawn care company took deposits without completing work, attorney general says

LANSING, MI – The state attorney general has filed a lawsuit alleging that a Kent City lawn care business took advance payments or deposits but did little or no work.

Attorney General Dana Nessel on Wednesday, Sept. 24, announced the lawsuit, filed in Ingham County Circuit Court, against Calton’s Lawn Care and the owners, Aron and Leslie Calton.

Nessel said the owners ignored or blocked customers who sought refunds. The lawsuit alleges violations of the Michigan Consumer Protection Act. It asks that the company be dissolved with customers reimbursed for their losses…
