MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A jury deliberated for about a half-hour Wednesday before finding a man not guilty of murder in a cold case dating to 2014.
A grand jury indicted Billie Joe Turner, 48, of Mobile, in December 2023. Prosecutors alleged that he ran over Charles Jackson Jr. with a vehicle, beat him and left him for dead. But law enforcement investigators never found his body.
