One of St. Pete’s best local spots is hidden right in the middle of town. Located in Central Oak Park, Tasty Treats Café is a gem, serving fantastic meals from morning through night. Tasty Treats Café has become a favorite with neighbors since opening two years ago, thanks in large part to its scratch-made offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The café dishes up build-your-own breakfast sandwiches, fresh-baked flat bread pizzas, sweet pastries, big sandwiches, and plenty of coffee to pair with it all. They also churn out homemade biscuits, which can be topped with gravy, turned into breakfast sandwiches, or enjoyed warm and straight out of the oven.
The full menu also includes salads, a variety of rotating sweets (think muffins, cookies, croissants, pie, and cinnamon rolls), quiches, hot dogs (available in either breakfast or lunch variety), build-your-own lunch sandwiches, tea, and even hot chocolate. We should also note that Tasty Treats carries a wide selection of gluten-free options in its pastry case.
The family-run business also does custom cakes, catering, and even custom bakery items. Owners Chris and Laurie Lieber have made it not just a family restaurant, but a community hub. They regularly host events, including a Trunk-or-Treat in October, a Thanksgiving Lunch in November, and Santa Breakfast in December.
Support local St. Pete businesses
With so many mom-and-pop, independent businesses struggling, it’s more important than ever to not just support local, but eat local. And after all, when the food is this fresh (hand-tossed pizza or fresh cinnamon buns, anyone?), local is miles better than lunch or breakfast from a chain…
