TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Area residents are concerned that their currently tranquil lots near Lake Jackson may soon be surrounded by housing if proposed changes to the Tallahassee-Leon County Comprehensive Plan go through.
Known as the “comp plan,” the document was first created in 1990 and works as a land use constitution, dictating what can be built where and in what density.
Then, zoning laws and changes fall under the comp plan. Recently, the City of Tallahassee transmitted its second version of the comp plan, which had 2,000 acres of the Lake Jackson area added to the “urban services area.”…
