OCONTO — A 24-year-old Gillett man died Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Oconto County.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center was notified of a two-vehicle crash with injuries involving a passenger car and a pickup truck towing a trailer at 10:26 a.m. Saturday on Highway 22 near the intersection of Old 22 Road and County Trunk P in the Town of Gillett.
Deputies and other first responders immediately responded to the scene of the crash and observed a gray Volkswagen SUV in the west ditch that had extensive damage and a Chevrolet pickup truck in the southbound lane with extensive damage, according to the sheriff’s office. A preliminary investigation revealed the truck towing a trailer, driven by a 22-year-old man from Sobieski, was traveling south on Highway 22.
