ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Darth Vader balloon is a fan favorite at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta but this year could be the last.
Darth Vader first launched around 19 years ago but the balloon needs some work to keep flying.
“In fact, the balloon is made of fabrics and the fabrics are 19 years old and starting to be old. So the first idea was to just replace the fabrics from the top but the factory in Bristol in England tell us it’s a very complicated shape. It will be almost impossible to redo only the top,” pilot Benoit Lambert said…
