PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police are warning anyone who shopped at the Dollar Tree near Mall 205 within the past few days to double-check their bank statements, as authorities located a skimming device on one of the registers.
On Tuesday morning, the Portland Police Bureau said an officer responded to the store at 10534 SE Washington St. and retrieved a skimming device that an employee had found at register five, the checkout nearest to the entrance.

Skimming devices are used at ATMs, retail stores and gas pumps to illegally capture a customer’s credit or debit card information during a transaction.
Police said anyone who shopped at the Mall 205 Dollar Tree between the morning of Saturday, Sept. 20, and the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 23, should check their financial statements for any suspicious activity…
