Tacoma resident spreads awareness after dog’s sudden death at popular park

TACOMA, Wash. — A routine walk at a popular Tacoma park turned tragic for Tacoma resident Kenneth Gentili, after his small dog collapsed and died within minutes, in what he believes was a fentanyl overdose.

The incident occurred two months ago at Owen Beach in Point Defiance Park, where Gentili often walked with his dog. The outing took a devastating turn when the dog ate something from under a bench in the children’s play area.

“I was trying to grab her mouth to open it up,” Gentili said. “It was so small, I couldn’t even see what she ate.”…
