Wilmer woman found guilty in fatal 2021 crash

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A woman from Wilmer has been found guilty in regard to a fatal crash that occurred in 2021.

Elizabeth Sprinkle, 57, was found guilty by a Mobile County jury of criminally negligent homicide, a release from the office of District Attorney Keith Blackwood said.

Johnthan Neesmith, a tow truck driver, was hit by Sprinkle on Dec. 13, 2021. According to the release, Neesmith was attempting to remove a vehicle from I-65 when Sprinkle “failed to slow down, changed lanes, and struck Neesmith, killing him.”

“Jonathan Neesmith was simply doing his job when his life was taken in such a preventabletragedy. Today’s verdict holds the defendant accountable, but it will never undo the pain causedto Mr. Neesmith’s family and our community,” Blackwood said.
