Amarillo man indicted on murder charge after 1 hit, killed by vehicle

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — An Amarillo man was indicted on an alleged murder charge stemming from an incident in July, according to court documents filed in Potter County.

John Joseph Kempf, 23, was indicted on a charge of murder after an incident in which a man was found dead inside a home from injuries sustained after allegedly being hit by a vehicle on July 18.

As was previously reported on MyHighPlains.com, the Amarillo Police Department was investigating the death of Daniel Clay Beavers, 36, who police said may have died after being hit by a vehicle.

Police responded to the 1500 block of South Bowie on July 18, where officers found Beavers dead inside his home…
