A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 15 years and five months in federal prison for drug trafficking and firing at an undercover police officer.
U.S. District Judge Audrey G. Fleissig handed down the sentence to 26-year-old Anthony Stallworth on Wednesday. Stallworth pleaded guilty in June to one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, one count of distribution of fentanyl, and one count of discharging a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The firearm charge carried a mandatory minimum of 10 years, to be served consecutively with other sentences, while the methamphetamine charge carried a mandatory minimum of five years.
Court documents show that Stallworth sold 28 capsules containing fentanyl to an undercover St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer on Oct. 10, 2019. Five days later, the same officer arranged another purchase. Stallworth instructed the officer to follow his Mercedes SUV after setting up a meeting location. At a stop sign, Stallworth suddenly stopped, extended a firearm out of the SUV’s window, and fired two shots toward the officer’s vehicle before fleeing at high speed…
