Traffic stop for expired registration leads to $200,000 meth bust in East Bexar County

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A routine traffic stop for expired registration led to a major meth bust in East Bexar County on Monday.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, around 1:30 p.m. a deputy stopped a 2017 Nissan Titan with expired registration. The driver, identified as Ramiro Torres-Huato, was found without a valid driver’s license.

A K9 unit was called to the scene, and K9 Bak alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a large white trash bag on the front passenger floorboard containing six clear gallon-sized bags of methamphetamine. In total six kilograms of methamphetamine, valued at approximately $200,000, were seized by deputies…
