Bat Cave’s United States Post Office is fully reopened for the first time since Tropical Storm Helene devastated the area a year ago this week.
It’s the first storefront in Bat Cave to reopen, Lynn Staton, owner of the post office building and leader of the mutual aid organization Bat Cave Disaster Relief, told the Times-News Sept. 24.
“It’s huge,” she said. Staton also owns an antique shop that was housed in the building next door until it collapsed in the storm. “None of us here that own shops are open,” she said…
