Second person identified in deadly Owensboro bypass crash

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Daviess County Coroner has identified the second person killed in the U.S. 60 bypass crash earlier this month.

According to a release from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, dental records were used to identify 18-year-old Charles Dosch, of Maceo, as the driver of the vehicle that crossed the center median and struck another vehicle on September 4. Authorities say both Dosch, and his passenger, 43-year-old Brian Deaton, of Shelbyville, were killed on impact.

Owensboro officials focus on U.S. 60 safety improvements

Another driver, Justin Phillips, 24, of Owensboro, was transported to a hospital to be treated for critical injuries.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, the crash prompted a meeting between Sheriff Brad Youngman, Judge Executive Charlie Castlen, Public Safety Director Jeremy Smith, state representatives and officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to discuss safety on the bypass…
