Bike ride fundraiser for blood cancer awareness to stop in Upstate

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Dozens of people from across the country will gather in Greenville in October for the Velo Palmetto Bike Ride. They’ll be cycling for several days to bring awareness to a specific type of cancer.

The Velo Palmetto Bike Ride kicks off in Greenville October 23rd and ends October 26th. The three day bike ride, which includes a stop at Paris Mountain, raises money and awareness for blood cancers.

The bike ride supports the organization Blood Cancer United, which helps to fund blood cancer research and supplement the cost of treatment for patients. Organizers said this is the first time they’re able to host the ride in Greenville since Helene. 25 cyclists are participating this year…
