Lockdown lifted at Belmont Middle School after threat call traced to juvenile in New York: Police

BELMONT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Belmont Middle School was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after getting a threatening phone call from an unknown suspect, later believed to be a juvenile located in New York, Belmont Police announced.

The threat came in around 8:30 a.m., prompting a lockdown. Law enforcement from Belmont and surrounding areas responded to secure the school and search the area.
