NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Newport News City Council has amended the zoning ordinance to regulate new vape shops.
The new ordinance, adopted Tuesday, states vape shops must be at least 2,000 feet away from schools and childcare centers, though vape shops currently in operation are allowed to continue. See the ordinance below:

However, if a shop closes for 24 months or longer, any future reopening must comply with the new regulations.
