(FOX40.COM) — Several California residents reported seeing a fiery meteor-like object shooting through the sky on Thursday night. • Video Above: Meteor-like object shoots through California SkyAround 7:45 p.m., calls began to flood into the FOX40 newsroom about a meteor, or something similar to it, traveling through the sky. Reports came in from Rocklin, Shingle Springs, Salida, and the Sacramento area.
“It was right over our heads,” said Sacramento resident Joey Becker. He said he was unloading groceries from his car with his dad when they saw the object in the sky. “It was like a giant moving comet. And it seemed to have a huge physical body attached to it. It kind of looked like a rocket with a single orange flame coming from it.”
He added, “I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. There was no sound or anything coming from it. It just kept moving. It was kind of creepy.”
