Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted an operation outside a Bluffton plant nursery Thursday morning, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
The operation at Southern Marsh Nursery on May River Road was a joint effort between ICE and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Lt. Daniel Allen of the BCSO said. Sheriff’s deputies were in the area to manage traffic and allow the fleet of agents’ vehicles to enter the area, he said.
It was not immediately clear how many people were detained or if the operation’s scope involved other areas of Beaufort County…
