26 people charged in connection with ALE investigation in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – 26 people were charged in connection with a North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) investigation in Wilmington, according to the NC Department of Public Safety (NCDPS).

Officials investigated the sale of illegal drugs and alcohol and other crimes happening at ABC-licensed businesses in Wilmington after receiving complaints from citizens and the Wilmington Police Department.

“These establishments, particularly those with ABC licenses, often serve as hubs for criminal conduct, including drug distribution, illegal gambling, and unlicensed alcohol sales,” NCDPS wrote in a press release…
