LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – A Texas man has been sentenced to life in prison after killing a man in Lake Charles in 2022.
Eskinder Mekuria of Humble, Texas, was found guilty earlier this month of shooting and killing 46-year-old Hushiar Faris Sumo on L’Auberge Boulevard.
Mekuria and Sumo had met each other at the Golden Nugget Casino, and later left in Sumo’s car, prosecutors said. As Sumo was driving, Mekuria shot and killed him, then fled the scene and state. Mekuria was later found and arrested in Texas…
