William Shatner Addresses Hospitalization Reports, Reassures Fans After “Overindulging”

“Star Trek” icon William Shatner has quickly moved to quell concerns about his health after reports circulated this week regarding a medical emergency and brief hospitalization in Los Angeles. The 94-year-old actor took to social media to reassure his followers that he is “perfectly fine” and used the opportunity to advise caution against misinformation.

On Thursday, Shatner posted a humorous meme featuring himself in character as Mark Twain, bearing the text, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.” In a candid caption accompanying the image, he explained, “I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine.”

Initial reports suggested the Hollywood veteran was hospitalized on Wednesday. His agent, Harry Gold, clarified that Shatner experienced a blood sugar issue at his Los Angeles home, prompting emergency services to be called as a precautionary measure. Gold confirmed in a statement Thursday that his client is now “perfectly healthy.”

Beyond his personal health update, Shatner also delivered a broader message to his social media audience, urging them to be mindful of their information sources. He wrote, “don’t trust tabloids or AI!” in his post, emphasizing the need for reliable news.
