Charleston county council targets ‘thick’ plastic bags in new amendment

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Charleston County Environmental Management Committee is considering changing what counts as a reusable carryout bag.

A new amendment to the current Single-Use Plastic Bag Ordinance would create uniformity with similar ordinances in the city of Charleston, city of Folly Beach, town of Mount Pleasant, and town of James Island.
