Stolen Dodge Challenger involved in head-on crash near Chums Corner, sheriff says

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — A Copemish man and woman are being treated for serious injuries after a Grandville man driving a stolen Dodge Challenger crossed the centerline on US-31 near Chums Corner, hitting their car head on, according to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office.

It started Thursday just before 6 p.m. when the sheriff’s office said deputies responded to a report of a man, 33 of Grandville, using a knife to take a 2011 orange Dodge Challenger from a Garfield Township man in his driveway.

Calls started coming in about a reckless driver heading south toward Chums Corner on US-31 at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic…
